Fri. Dec. 22, 2017: Hamlet final quiz and Terminology

Today, students wrote their Act V Hamlet quiz . They then did a test on the words they have learned. We then watched clips of the film as additional support. When we return from the holidays, we will work on poetry and short stories. You will see Hamlet in the final.

Thurs. Dec. 21, Hamlet: Act V

Today, we finished reading the last Act of Hamlet. This means that you will have a quiz tomorrow. It will include terminology words we have been using.

Tues. Dec. 19, 2017: Hamlet Act IV

Today, you read Act IV of Hamlet . You were then given time to review the summaries for your Act IV quiz tomorrow.

Mon. Dec. 18, 2017:

·         Today, you wrote the Act Three Quiz for Hamlet. ·           ·          When finished, you got the reading from The Winter’s Tale , Act II, Scene i.” and the questions from your portfolios.        You were instructed to actively read this and answer the questions using active reading and process of elimination. 

Fri. Dec. 15, 2017: Hamlet Act IV

Today, we finished reading Act III of Hamlet and then read up to Act IV, scene 4. We will start on page 107 on Tuesday. On Monday, you will have the Act III quiz and another Shakespearean reading to read actively. Be sure to read over the commentary in your Hamlet book in order to be prepared for the test.

Thurs. Dec. 14, 2017: Hamlet: Act III Continued

Today, we completed reading Act III,  Scene 3, of Hamlet. We will start on page 92 (Act III, Scene 4) tomorrow.

Wed. Dec. 13, 2017: Shakespeare: Hamlet. Act III

Today, we read up to Act III, Scene 2, line 133 (page 79) of  Hamlet.

Tues. Dec. 12, 2017: Act II Quiz and Shakespeare Reading

Today, you wrote your Act II Hamle t Quiz. You were then given a Shakespeare reading and questions to do actively and using process of elimination. If you were not here, the reading and questions are in your portfolio. The reading is from Two Gentlemen of Verona.

Mon. Dec. 11, 2017: Hamlet Act II Completion

Today, you finished reading Act II of Hamlet . You will have a quiz on this Act tomorrow.

Fri. Dec. 8, 2017: Hamlet Act II

Today, we read Act II, scene II, Page 55. We finished right after Hamlet tells Rosencrantz and Guildenstern that he is just "playing" at crazy.

Thurs. Dec. 7, 2017: Hamlet Act II Scene

Today, we got through Act II, scene II and part of Act II, scene  110. At this part, Polonius is reading a letter that Hamlet gave to Ophelie.

Wed. Dec. 6, 2017: Act One Quiz and Reading

Today, students wrote a quiz on Act One of Hamlet . Once handed in, they were given the reading  “from The Tragedy of King Richard the Second ” and the questions. They were instructed to actively read and actively answer (using process of elimination) the questions and hand them in.

Tues. Dec. 5, 2017: Hamlet: Completion of Act I

Today, we completed reading Act I of Hamlet . The students then had to write a summary of the Act I (no more than 15 sentences!). We then assigned roles for Act II. I also showed the students the quizzes that will be completed for every act. These will be done as conveniently to the end of an Act as possible.

Mon. Dec. 1, 2017: Hamlet Continued Act I to Scene IV

Today, we read up to the end of Act I, scene 111.

Fri. Dec. 1, 2017: Hamlet Act I Continued & Revision/Evidence Discussion

Today, the students did a timed writing activity to address the difference between evidence and opinion. We then read Act I, scene two of Hamlet , up to page 16, line 181.
