Tues. Oct. 3 - Fri. Oct. 6, 2017: Modern Hero Readings
Today, students discussed the traits of a modern hero by examining the traits of a hero from the past. I then gave them the reading "Man in the Water" to read actively. This includes creating a three page summary at the end of it.
If finished, the students then read "The lowest Animal" actively, creating a three sentence summary at the end.
Finally, the students will answer a series of questions that compare both of these texts. This will take them thru until Thursday. If they finish the assignments, then they can work on their novel study.
I have informed students that all due assignments (the text critiques) need to be in by the end of the day on Tuesday or the student(s) will have to arrange to do an alternative.
