Fri. Oct. 27, 2017: Lord of the Flies : Symbolism and Allegory

Today, you were to have read Chapter Three of the novel. I presented information on the characters as they related to Freud's theory of personality. I also explained the political allegory present in this text. In addition, I explained a couple of symbols: the conch, Piggy's Glass, and fire.

For Monday, you need to have Chapter Four read.

Today, we did a timed journal on Chapters 10 & 11 of the novel, Lord of the Flies. I then discussed how people try to justify actions that they normally would believe to be wrong. Fri. Dec. 15, 2017: Hamlet Act IV

Today, we finished reading Act III of Hamlet and then read up to Act IV, scene 4. We will start on page 107 on Tuesday. On Monday, you will have the Act III quiz and another Shakespearean reading to read actively. Be sure to read over the commentary in your Hamlet book in order to be prepared for the test.
