Mon. Sept. 18, 2017: Introduction to Heroes in the Era of Chivalry

Today, we discussed whether Beowulf met the definition of a hero for his day. We examined the heroic things he did and then I insisted the responsess be backed up with evidence (where did you find that?). We then moved into a discussion on heroes in the next histrical age: the age of chivalry.

We took notes from a PowerPoint (linked below), were provided with a virtues list (linked below) and the actively read the text (linked below). This is to be completed for tomorrow's  class

Today, we did a timed journal on Chapters 10 & 11 of the novel, Lord of the Flies. I then discussed how people try to justify actions that they normally would believe to be wrong. Fri. Dec. 15, 2017: Hamlet Act IV

Today, we finished reading Act III of Hamlet and then read up to Act IV, scene 4. We will start on page 107 on Tuesday. On Monday, you will have the Act III quiz and another Shakespearean reading to read actively. Be sure to read over the commentary in your Hamlet book in order to be prepared for the test.
